Who am I?

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”27px”][blockquote text=”"People don’t take trips… trips take people."

When I was a little girl at school,…

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]… I was looking forward to the moment when we could “paint”; apron strung, standing in front of the little easel, the brush almost too big for my hand, I chose with delight the colors that would cover the large sheet. Mixing the tip of the brush with water and gouache until it became creamy and then spreading it on paper were for me experiences comparable to tasting a coveted cake in a pastry shop window! These moments, always too short for me, remain imbued in my memory and I relive the same emotion every time I take a canvas to evoke the colors that seduced me in the moment: the flowers opening in the grass, the waves at the edge of the Atlantic, the sun piercing through the clouds after the rain…[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”31px”][vc_column_text]

Largely self-taught,…

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]… I took two years of interior design classes at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels where I developed my skills in drawing and creating atmospheres. Afterwards I was lucky enough to have Catherine Borgers as a painting teacher for 3 years. Her discipline in terms of artistic composition and respect for tones and values have allowed me to approach acrylic painting in a more assertive way. My first exhibition (Saint-Gilles Parcours d’Artistes 2012) illustrates a 3-dimensional mixed media technique inspired by an aerial vision of nature’s great outdoor spaces.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”31px”][vc_column_text]

I like to explore movement and colors’ play …

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]… by mixing acrylic and medium fat that I pour on the canvas (“acrylic pouring”). All shades of the rainbow are worked to capture the light and density of each pigment as well as its interaction with other pigments. This artistic experience reinforces the beginner’s curiosity and letting go as a wise man would do, because the result is always surprising.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”31px”][vc_column_text]

I wish you a pleasant trip amongst my paintings and I will be happy if they make you want to come back!
